The pukaea is a ceremonial trumpet with a commanding and far-reaching voice. Traditionally used to announce arrivals, significant events, and formal occasions, it remains one of the most striking instruments within the taonga puoro tradition.
Each pukaea is individually crafted, with careful consideration given to form, projection, and playability. The finished instrument reflects both the natural character of the materials and the intended purpose of the commission.
Commissions are made to order and require a 6 week lead time.
Listed price will be automatically reduced by 50% at checkout to allow payment of non-refundable deposit which confirms your commission and reserves your space on production list. Remaining 50% due on completion and before taonga is shipped. This will be invoiced separately.
